Hosanna

Today's video is my piano cover of a hymn called "Hosanna, Loud Hosanna." Earlier this week, I was considering how the things we think about are reflected in our actions. Maybe that could also apply to the songs we're listening to. Hopefully a song of rejoicing like this one will be something that you remember!

You might not think that a mirror would have inspired my post for today, but if you look closely at what I said at the top, "the things we think about are reflected in our actions," you might be able to make sense of that.

If you have two mirrors available to you, you can actually do a lot of things that are impossible with one. For example, you can make a reflection that continues forever.

If the two mirrors are facing each other, they're each reflecting light back to the other one, so the light could theoretically reflect infinitely. You'll keep seeing the shape of your mirror over and over again, with one inside another one.

A few things could happen, though. I'd say there's a 99% chance that you aren't holding the two mirrors perfectly parallel, which will result in your line of reflections curving until you can't see it anymore.

You also might happen to have a mirror that's covered in grease! In that case, the reflection will become so blurry that you can't see anything except the grease marks. You'll have to clean off the grease if you want to see your nice pattern again.

So, how does all of that connect to thoughts being reflected? You could compare the things that you're saying to the grease on your mirror. If you keep reflecting your grease around inside your head, you'll eventually start reflecting it onto my mirror. Now that I'm reflecting it, you'll start seeing it on me too, until you can't see down the line of reflections anymore.

Now, anyone who walks past me is going to see the blurry reflections, and become another person who's been negatively influenced by the grease. It doesn't actually have to be on their mirror for them to begin reflecting it.

There's only one way to stop the cycle from continuing, and that's to clean the grease off your mirror by removing those negative thoughts. That way, they can't start reflecting onto all the mirrors that are facing yours.

Hopefully, if you liked listening to this song, it'll put some positive thoughts in your head. That way, your mirror will have a bit less grease for you to reflect.

But more importantly, you'll be inspired to...

keep filling your teacup with music!
