Writing a book might sound easy, but it's a big investment.
A lot of us would like to get to center stage (sometimes quite literally) and get our names out there. The problem is, few of us ever make it there. Those who do will have to put in a lot of time or money. Why? Because it's an investment.

Wondering where I got these great pictures? There's a site called pixabay.com that gives you free images for anything you want. |
If you did write a book (like the title of this song suggests), you'd also have to spend a lot of time coming up with ideas, making an outline, actually writing it, editing it, getting it on the market, and convincing people to read it! That's a lot of time.
Is it really worth investing time in? Sometimes you'll make a lot of progress. Other times, it won't go too far. Ask me how I know.
Let's say I'm looking for some resources about playing better.
I could have been looking up some books and courses about making better music. Maybe there's this one that I really like, but it costs a lot. Then there's another one that I think will be useful but that I'm not that interested in.
I'd have to go and look at those two and see which one was worth more to me. Maybe I wouldn't pick either of those and just go with the free resources I have. I wouldn't spend time or money on things I don't want or need.
It's kind of like practicing. I often hear about using your practice time wisely and writing down what you want to accomplish. If you agree with the title of this song, you would also have to write down the things you want to accomplish in your book... and read over it before you get it published! After all that time spent writing, you want to increase your chances of making it to center stage, don't you?
So, you have to figure out the value of something before you do it.
- The value of an hour spent practicing
- The value of a music course
- The value of a new piano
- The value of a blog you wanted to start (So far, I've had a positive experience with this one. Forget the numbers of views and everything - those don't count.)
- The value of time spent looking things up
- The value of a book you wanted to write!
So if you could write a book, what are you waiting for? Just make sure it's something you were planning on doing!
