If you remember my last April post, you might feel like I'm repeating myself. After all, when I wrote about J. S. Bach's composition last Easter Monday, I said that I had recorded it the year before I posted it, but I was waiting until Easter. I then ran into the same situation with this one. I recorded it a week after Easter, but then thought it was too late, so I left it in my folder and waited.
You can probably tell that I got a bit sidetracked and did not get it posted in time for Easter Monday. But this time, I decided I wasn't waiting another year.
Unlike me, Jesus did not get sidetracked and accidentally delay plans. Therefore, I will not attempt to change the timing of the resurrection. Rather, I will simply change the title of my post so it remains accurate. (Of course, it won't be very accurate for those of you who are seeing this on Wednesday.)
"Once He died our souls to save, aaaaalleluia!" Then, one might ask, why come back to that fact every year if it's already finished? Because we forget, perhaps. I hope this is something that's worth remembering -- and I think it helps to purposely take some time to remember it.
Last April's song had its implicit references to the cross. This one is about the resurrection. I think a year is enough time to wait before finishing the story we started. What do you think?
