Listen to the song here
(Can't see an audio player? It might not work if you're viewing this in an email client. If you are on teawithliya.blogspot.ca, you may need to try a different browser.)
Do you ever stare at a blank wall (or, now that we're in 2019, a new tab in your browser) trying to come up with something to do?
"Yeah, I know that I need to finish that task by Friday, but I've just been working on it for two hours. I'm going to do something else."
So, you open a new tab, knowing that a quick Google search should keep you occupied for a while until it's time to get dinner. You don't actually learn anything from that time spent browsing, and just after you finish dinner, a notification appears on your phone. It's a video from your favorite YouTube channel!
You can't just ignore the notification, can you? So you watch that video, and then another one.......
Here are the lyrics for this song

This jumbled film roll is as confusing as the reason why you watched all those videos. Image by 15299 from Pixabay |
Then you remember that you said the same thing to yourself the previous night, and the night before that.....
But.... what if you decided to change something?
If you find that you're wasting a lot of time online, then unplug those Wi-Fi cables! Although the Internet makes it easy to find information, it also makes it easy to waste time! Sometimes, the best way to waste less time is to force yourself to not go to those places.
Your brain, your hands, and the 24 hours in your day are gifts you've been given for a reason. Instead of using them to waste time, you can work on some smaller projects if you're tired of that big one. Many other things can still be productive: responding to emails, reading about polynomial equations, knitting some hats, or filling your teacup with music!
