All Blues

I decided to post this song today....because I know you're lookin' for some jazz after all this time. Actually, how long has it been since I posted a jazz song? Oh yeah. It was only a week ago.

This song, as you might know, was composed, played, and recorded by Miles Davis, as were So What, Blue in Green, and the other songs on "Kind of Blue" that I can't remember now. But it was also played and recorded by me. I learned this from a score, but I then made a few changes to it.

Looking back in 2024, I played this quite differently when I recorded it in 2018 than I do now! In fact, I'm liking this version better.

It's a good thing that I learned 3 songs in "Kind of Blue", since it's such a well-known album. I regularly see it on a wall displaying "The Greatest Jazz Albums of All Time." Maybe in 2121, an album with a song that I wrote will be on there. But then again, I don't know if that sign is going to change itself just because I'm writing songs. I won't know, because I won't be alive in 2121. Just like Miles Davis isn't alive now.

But we can still play his songs - after all, he played the trumpet (and made it to Greatest Albums of All Time), and I know someone who tells me that the trumpet is the best instrument in the world. Other people would think differently though.

So, why aren't you listening yet? Have you got the blues already?
